Fujifilm Instax Square 2 Launches with Creative Filters
Fujifilm ends a three-year gap in its square-format lineup with the Instax Square 2 camera and new Soft Haze film, offering adjustable color filters and a softer film look from late October 2026.
Fujifilm announced the Instax Square 2 for release in late October 2026. The camera and its companion Soft Haze film expand creative control for instant photographers, arriving three years after the last square-format model, the SQ40.
Instax Square 2 features a Mood Filter Switch with Warm, Cool, and Off settings. The built-in filters change the look via camera settings, while the new Soft Haze film alters the aesthetic through the film itself. Soft Haze film uses reduced saturation and contrast. It is designed to produce glowing highlights and warm, diffused shadows and works as part of the wider Instax Square format lineup.
Key features and controls
The camera offers fully automatic exposure and a flash that cannot be turned off. It uses intuitive twist-to-operate controls to select between Close-up, Landscape, and Standard shooting modes, which function as zone focusing settings.
A switch on the front of the lens activates the built-in blue or orange filters. The blue filter creates cooler, hazier images, while the orange filter adds a subtle golden tone. The camera can shoot without any filter for a classic look.
It comes in three body colours: Slate Blue, Misty White, and Brick Red. Other features include a built-in selfie mirror, an optical viewfinder, and a Xenon flash. It prints on Instax SQUARE instant film, sold separately, and uses replaceable AA batteries.

Film and accessories
The new Instax Square Soft Haze film is sold in packs of 10 exposures. Alysa Gavilan said, "The Instax Square 2 is expected to arrive in late October 2026, with a suggested retail price of $119.95." The suggested retail price for the Soft Haze film is €11.99 EUR.
The camera package includes a hand strap, four AA batteries, a quick start guide, and a one-year limited warranty.
Context in the Instax lineup
The Instax Square 2 is the latest iteration in Fujifilm's SQUARE product lineup. The broader Instax range includes cameras, digital hybrids, and printers. Instax cameras and film are regularly at the top of best sellers lists, with the film often in the number one position.
This launch coincides with other recent models like the purely digital Instax Pal 2 and hybrid models that combine a digital camera with an Instax printer, such as the Instax Mini Evo. Standalone printers like the Instax WIDE 2 also allow printing from compatible digital cameras.
