Editorial Policy
theframeandlight publishes factual reference material and reporting on the light and setting that produce a photograph. Our purpose is to provide clear, accurate information for photographers. The site will not publish betting content, invented quotes, or any material presented as formal health, legal or financial instruction. We do not cover the private lives of individuals.
We distinguish between reporting and reference material. Reference pages, such as those on techniques, gear or locations, are built from established facts and are updated as needed. Reporting, found in sections like News, covers current events and developments. All reporting is clearly labelled as such and will cite its sources.
When a claim cannot be independently verified, we will not present it as fact. Such information will either be omitted or its unverified status will be explicitly stated within the text. We do not speculate. For images, we use real photographs with full credit to the creator where that information exists. We will never publish a software-generated image of a real person's face.
Our editorial focus is on practical knowledge. Sections cover technique, genres, gear, editing, practice, news, notable work, UK locations, learning and community, and video work. All content is written in plain prose for a UK audience. Readers with comments or corrections on our content are welcome to write to the editorial team via the contact details provided on the site.
