The Polaroid x Pokémon camera collection was released globally on October 5, 2026. This nine-piece collaboration, Polaroid's biggest to date, celebrates Pokémon's 30th anniversary with themed cameras, film, and accessories.

Created in honor of Pokémon's 30th anniversary, the collection taps into nostalgia and collector culture. It includes designs based on a Poké Ball, Pikachu, and Sylveon. The launch was in limited quantities through Polaroid and the Pokémon Center in the U.S., U.K., and Canada.

Camera models and film compatibility

The collection uses existing Polaroid camera platforms with new Pokémon-themed exteriors. The cameras do not come with film; film must be purchased separately.

Special edition film and accessories complete the collection. The Pokémon edition camera strap is compatible with both Now and Go models.

Alysa Gavilan noted the challenge for fans: "Now comes the difficult part: choosing between Pikachu, Sylveon and the Poké Ball without somehow convincing yourself that you need all three."

Availability and launch context

Preorders for the collection opened on August 25. The full global launch followed on October 5. High demand led to immediate stock shortages at Polaroid and the Pokémon Center. At the time of publishing, the cameras were out of stock at those official channels but were available for purchase at Best Buy.

Gavilan also quipped, "Forget choosing a starter Pokémon. Polaroid has given you another important decision: which Pokémon do you want to carry around in your camera bag?" The collection was released globally on October 5, 2026 in limited quantities through Polaroid, with availability varying by market.
