The International Amateur Photographer of the Year award is now open for entries, offering non-professional photographers around the world a chance to win from a huge prize pot worth $32,000/£24,000.

The competition, which takes place over ten themed rounds, is open to photographers of all ages, with the fifth category, ARCHITECTURE, currently accepting entries until 14th September 2026.

Architecture is all around us, from iconic landmarks and soaring skyscrapers to tower blocks and motorway service stations. The built environment offers endless opportunities to unleash your creativity, and Amateur Photographer Magazine is encouraging photographers to take a fresh look at the world we've built.

Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just starting out, the International Amateur Photographer of the Year award is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and win some fantastic prizes. The competition is open to photographers of all ages, with the fifth category, ARCHITECTURE, currently accepting entries until 14th September 2026.

### How to Enter

To enter the competition, you can submit up to 5 images in each of the 10 rounds. One free entry per round can be obtained via a unique code published in Amateur Photographer magazine during the period in which that round is open. Without the code, you'll be able to enter a maximum of 4 images per round.

For the Young Amateur Photographer of the Year competition, eligible photographers can enter up to 4 free images per round.

### Prizes

The winner of each round will receive a range of prizes, including:

The two runners-up in each round will receive a free DxO Nik Collection licence worth £146 and a £25 voucher for Bob Books.

The top ten entries from every round will also be published in AP.

The overall winner after ten rounds will win £1,000 to spend at Park Cameras and a £100 voucher for Bob Books.

### Young Amateur Photographer of the Year

The Young Amateur Photographer of the Year competition is a great opportunity for up-and-coming photographers to showcase their skills and win some fantastic prizes. The competition is open to photographers aged 21 or younger, and the prizes include:

### The Camera Club Award

If you belong to a camera club or photographic society, you can accumulate precious points for your society when you enter Amateur Photographer of the Year. The winning club after all ten rounds will receive a beautiful new website build from Amazing Internet, worth £1,500.
