Neewer AS600C Review: A Premium RGB COB Light for Creative Lighting
The Neewer AS600C is a high-end RGB COB light that offers a wide range of color control options and a compact design. However, it comes with a significant trade-off: a loss of brightness compared to its bi-color counterpart, the AS600B.

The Neewer AS600C is a premium RGB COB light designed for creative lighting applications. It features a wide range of color control options, including DMX control, Art-Net protocols, and a Neewer Studio app for smartphone control.
### Key Features
| Feature | Description | | --- | --- | | RGBCW LED Head | Offers 36,000 colors and warm-to-cool temperatures of 2500-7500K | | Advanced DMX | Regular DMX in and out, Art-Net protocols via Ethernet | | All-Weather | IP54-rated head and power pack, suitable for use in the rain |
The AS600C has a maximum power of 600W and a quoted maximum illumination of 56,000 lux at 1m. However, this is significantly lower than the 96300 lux/1m of the AS600B, with the trade-off being a loss of brightness for the added color control.
### Build and Handling
The AS600C comes in two parts: the head and the control block. The head is a box with a light and a fan inside, featuring a Bowens S-mount for modifiers and a large yoke for mounting on a stand. The control block is where all the action happens, with a decent-sized display and a range of options for color control.
The kit is quite large and heavy, but the roller case that comes with it is convenient for storing and transporting the light. The head and control block are the same size and weight as the AS600B, but the overall weight of the kit is still significant.
### In Use
The AS600C is a joy to use, with a straightforward menu and a clear layout. The Neewer Studio app is a convenient way to control the light, and the DMX in and out ports, as well as the Ethernet port, offer a range of control options.
However, the trade-off for the added color control is a loss of brightness. While the AS600B can produce f/11 at 1/125sec, 2m and ISO 100, the AS600C can only manage f/5.6. This is a significant difference, and users should be aware of this when choosing between the two lights.
In summary, the Neewer AS600C is a high-end RGB COB light that offers a wide range of color control options and a compact design. However, it comes with a significant trade-off: a loss of brightness compared to its bi-color counterpart, the AS600B.
